The end of summer marks an amazing time of the year, one where tomatoes are king. I personally can't wait for the weekends so I can get to the Local Green City Market, where the endless varieties of this late summer gold can be found. In this recipe, we utilize the heirloom tomato in a much different way, soaking them in buttermilk to add richness then frying to create a crunch, sealing in the delicious sweet juices. We serve these crispy tomatoes with a Roasted Garlic Sour Cream and our signature Bacon Onion Jam.
